Udayagiri Wooden Cutlery is well known for its intricate carvings made by rural master craftsmen with the craft passed down through each generation. This wood craft has been recently accorded the Geographical Indication tag too.This craft probably originated during the Quli Qutub Shah dynasty which was passed down through generations over time. The products they have been making till recently are spoons & forks, paper cutter and hair clips, lamp shades, photo frames, toys and many more. There are more than 120 patterns of intricately carved designs of spoons and forks and other serve wear. The price is set as per the design, level of intricacy and difficulty in making the piece. The cutlery set of fork & spoon is carved from soft Nardi wood with a heavy influence of Persian motifs and forms. The cutlery set may be used for tossing salad, mixing and serving food but is primarily used as gifting and table decoration items.
