Udayagiri Wooden Cutlery is well known for its intricate carvings made by rural master craftsmen with the craft passed down through each generation. This wood craft has been recently accorded the Geographical Indication tag too.This craft probably originated during the Quli Qutub Shah dynasty which was passed down through generations over time. The products they have been making till recently are spoons & forks, paper cutter and hair clips, lamp shades, photo frames, toys and many more. There are more than 120 patterns of intricately carved designs of spoons and forks and other serve wear. The price is set as per the design, level of intricacy and difficulty in making the piece. The set of fruit forks is carved from soft Nardi wood with a heavy influence of Persian motifs and forms. The fruit fork set is used as cutlery to eat cut fruit but is also used as gifting and table decoration items.
